How it works

Flocculation

Coagulant and flocculant form settleable flocs in the upstream reaction zone.

Distribution

The water is distributed evenly beneath the inclined plate pack.

Separation

Flocs settle on the plates over a short distance and slide down into the sludge hopper.

Discharge

Clarified water overflows at the top; thickened sludge is drawn off at the bottom.
